How It All Began
Hey there! It’s Angeli, founder of Small Social, and here’s a little bit of how we started.
The Beginning
I started working for a digital marketing agency in Bangkok, Thailand in 2018 where I learned everything I know about social media and marketing. We got to work with some of my dream brands from different industries like Ethan Allen, Google, and TopGolf and I was absolutely hooked.
The Dream
I moved to the US in 2022 and dreamed of starting my own agency someday. I started freelancing with whoever wanted to work with me and quickly realized I loved working with small business owners. They’re passionate, hard working, and personable. I also cared a lot about their businesses and the results I was able to bring because it directly impacted their families and our community. I followed a bunch of social media gurus and agency owners to see how to start one successfully and they all agree with this formula: charge as high as you can so you can work as little as possible and go on exotic vacations. I’m sure there’s validity to that, but I thought there must be a better way.
The Vision
I wanted to build an agency that was different. Instead of going for “high ticket clients” in luxury niches (I hate both those terms), I wanted to work with brands I believed in. Instead of trying to squeeze as much profit as possible through ad budget commissions, I wanted to keep prices affordable for small businesses and use transparent pricing. Instead of working long hours, dreading deadlines and hating my clients, I wanted work to feel fulfilling and work with people I truly enjoyed working with. Instead of just creating posts that look good, I wanted to use social media to help family-owned businesses thrive and actually bring results. That’s what Small Social is all about.
